Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: June 2, 2026  ·  Last Updated: June 2, 2026

Cortes & Co. Realty Group is committed to ensuring that cortesandcorealestate.com is accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We believe that every visitor, regardless of ability, deserves equal access to information about buying, selling, and investing in real estate in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

01

Our Commitment

We are actively working to increase the accessibility of our Site and to ensure that it conforms to applicable accessibility standards. Our goal is to make cortesandcorealestate.com usable by the widest possible audience, including individuals who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control software, and other adaptive tools.

Accessibility is not a one-time project, it is an ongoing effort. We review and improve our Site's accessibility on a regular basis.

02

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the widely accepted benchmark for web accessibility and is referenced in federal legal proceedings under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Section 508

In Progress

WCAG 2.1 is organized around four core principles. An accessible website must be:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive (e.g., alt text for images, captions for video).
  • Operable: All functionality must be accessible via keyboard and not require actions users cannot perform (e.g., keyboard navigation, no time limits).
  • Understandable: Content and operation of the interface must be understandable (e.g., clear labels, readable text, predictable navigation).
  • Robust: Content must be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of assistive technologies, including current and future user agents.

In addition to federal ADA requirements, Texas businesses are encouraged to follow accessibility guidelines consistent with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act as adopted in Texas state policy.

03

Measures We Take

To support accessibility on cortesandcorealestate.com, we work toward the following:

Text & Content

  • Providing descriptive alt text for all meaningful images
  • Using clear, plain-language content throughout the Site
  • Maintaining sufficient color contrast ratios between text and backgrounds
  • Using proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) for logical page structure
  • Avoiding reliance on color alone to convey meaning

Navigation & Interaction

  • Ensuring all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms) are accessible via keyboard
  • Providing visible focus indicators for keyboard users
  • Labeling all form fields clearly so screen readers can identify them
  • Ensuring the Site is navigable without requiring a mouse

Multimedia

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content where feasible
  • Working toward captions and transcripts for video content
  • Ensuring any background video (such as the homepage hero video) does not autoplay audio and includes a pause mechanism

Technical

  • Using semantic HTML elements to support assistive technology parsing
  • Ensuring the Site is responsive and functional across devices and screen sizes
  • Testing with screen reader software on an ongoing basis
04

Texas Legal Requirements

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires businesses open to the public, including real estate brokerages, to provide equal access to their services. The U.S. Department of Justice has affirmed that this requirement extends to websites.

Texas real estate brokerages are additionally subject to the Texas Real Estate Commission's (TREC) guidance, which encourages brokerages to maintain accessible websites so that all consumers, including those with disabilities, can access real estate services and information.

We are committed to meeting our obligations under the ADA and applicable Texas law. If you have been unable to access any part of our Site due to a disability, please contact us immediately so we can provide the information or service through an alternate format.
